The Smith’s Snackfood Company is committed to supporting the communities where we live and operate. We achieve this through our “Helping Hands” employee donation and volunteer program and our involvement with “Foodbank”.

The "Helping Hands” program is a simple way for our employees to make a real difference to our communities. Employees are provided with volunteering leave so they can work directly with charitable organizations. There is also a facility for employees to make regular pre-tax donations to one or more of our six partner charities (as nominated and decided upon by our employees).

Employee donations by eligible employees are matched dollar for dollar by the Company. The "Helping Hands Program” means we are helping to make a positive and meaningful contribution to our community as well as assisting in building a better tomorrow.

Foodbank is a not-for-profit, non-denominational organisation that seeks and distributes food and grocery industry donations to welfare agencies which feed the hungry. Foodbank is in fact the largest hunger relief organisation in Australia – distributing to over 2,500 welfare agencies across Australia.

Smith's has been a Foodbank partner since 1999. In 2010 we extended our involvement with Foodbank through the supply of fresh potatoes.

We aim to support and sustain a culture of safety striving for an incident-free workplace.
To ensure occupational health and safety throughout our operations, our business is staffed with health and safety professionals, and safety committees or coordinators are present and active in all company-owned manufacturing plants.
We set annual health and safety strategic targets and plans for improvement in all our individual businesses, and leaders have specific health and safety objectives in their Performance Development Plans.
