History
Nobby's Nuts were founded by Max "Nobby" Noblet, who started with a one-man business, manufacturing and selling nuts around central Adelaide in the 1950s. The product was so successful that the business quickly expanded and was purchased in 1983 by APD Snack Foods (The Smith's Snackfood Company). Queensland, the centre of Australia's peanut growing industry, is now the manufacturing site for all Nobby's Nuts. Over the years, Nobby's has developed a strong identity as a quality product recognised for its freshness and taste. All Nobby's Nuts are premium grade nuts and are packaged in special packaging material that helps us maintain this level of quality.
How they are made
Nobby's preference is always Australian grown nuts, only sourcing from overseas when a particular variety of nut is not grown here, or if sufficient quantities of nuts that meet our quality standards are not available. The first step in the Peanut manufacturing process is to remove the skins, which is done by lightly roasting the nut to loosen it from the kernel. Then nuts are propelled by air pressure through an electronic sorter that spots any skins that haven't been removed and removes them from the process. The cooker contains a natural vegetable oil. The nuts are cooked, salted and inspected to remove any imperfect kernels. They are then packaged immediately to preserve their freshness and rich natural flavour.
Packaging and Availability
Nobby's Nuts are packaged in a special foil which helps maintain the high level of freshness and quality you have come to expect from the brand. Nobby's are available in a variety of pack sizes.
Advertising "Nibble Nobby's Nuts" is the slogan invented by Max Noblet over 40 years ago and still is an important part of the brand’s heritage.
